STC International Research Program

The STC-IREP program offers student members of STCs opportunities for significant international research experience by supporting extended visits to partner institutions around the world. The program is administered by the Nanobiotechnology Center at Cornell and funded by the National Science Foundation.

The project is committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of personal information submitted by students. We want you to know why we gather information, how we protect your personal information and how it will be used.

The primary reason that we collect information is to document and evaluate the overall success of the STC_IREP program. Evaluation is required by the funding agency.

Information and reporting for the evaluation of this program is collected in a password protected database that is accessed at this URL: http://www.nbtc.cornell.edu/stc-irep/reporting/

Access to the database is restricted to authorized participants who are issued passwords by the administrative contact at each of the five sites involved in the program.

• For each of the five sites project information, participant lists and contact details are available to all authorized participants - PIs, administrative contacts, mentors, partners, and students.
   
  
• Individual identifiers such as name, address and email submitted by students will not be shared, sold or distributed with any third party that is not affiliated with the STC-IREP project.
   
  
• Information collected from individual students will be accessible to the students who submitted the information; their mentor(s); the site PI and the site administrative contact. This data will also be accessible by NBTC administrators and authorized staff from Edu Inc. - the external evaluation consultants for the STC-IREP program.
   
  
• Data collected will be pooled (individual identifiers removed) for reporting purposes and shared with the program funding agency.
