Education at the NBTC |

Formerly known as 'Main Street Science', Education at NBTC is a learning collaboratorium that serves the needs of the K-12 community and advances the science literacy of the general public through the development of hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities. The physical space and the organization of this learning collaboratorium are designed to foster the interactions between scientists (faculty, staff and students), teachers and K-12 students. Integral to the learning collaboratorium is a resident staff skilled in design and fabrication and the facilities to effectively create the components for hands-on learning activities. The focus of scientific efforts at Main Street Science are nanoscience, but we take a broad view of the field working off of the foundation that we have established over the past three years in understanding the knowledge base of students at various grade levels.
